QSL Cards 01/20/2011
I recently was digging through files and ran across a number of QSL cards that I received when I had my novice ticket in the mid 1960's. I was really surprised the number of call signs that are still active some of which are still at the same address! I plan on adding a new page to the site with copies of my old QSL cards so check back in a few days if you are Add Comment Happy 2011 01/14/2011
A very Happy New Year to everyone out there in the either that is the Internet and Amateur Radio. I hope you and your families all had a blessed Christmas. I hope you continue to promote and advance the hobby of ham radio in 2011. I have heard several different people and groups making the suggestion that a good New Years resolution would be to make at least one contact on the air every day this year. Sounds like an admirable goal to me. While I can accomplish that goal on VHF/UHF right now I would also like to be able to say that I made at least one HF contact each day. This probably isn't going to start happening until the spring for me as my HF station is off the air right now and the antennas are down. I also plan once back on line to also make sure I at least call CQ on 6 and 10 meters every day. So even though I can't "do as I say" right now it won't stop me from encouraging you to take up the cause. Give it some thought and if you have time invest the effort to pick up activity on all the bands. I think you may be surprised at the results. Remember, even though amateur radio exists for several serious causes no one ever said that it shouldn't be fun! Not sure if this will be a blog or not 11/20/2010
Since I already have three blogs I don't know if I want to try to keep up with another one. But check back every once in a while and see if I have added any new tidbits here on this site. My other blogs: Around The Town In Oakmont WA3FKG Pittsburgh Rail Fans Enjoy! |
